Yesterday, my dear friend @stylemakertv twittered "grateful" as her word of the day. I'd like to keep this in mind every day of 2010. Thanks, Ms. @stylemakertv for giving me this meditative focus! I'm thinking of starting each day with a gratitude to contemplate.

Those who keep up with Letter From Paris know about my fascination with the mannequins--and the pieces of them--I run across in Paris, so life-like yet lifeless. In store windows, rooms, buildings, or trash heaps, these mannequins seem thrown away in some sense--lives that were never lived, stopped short, or given up on.
The images I've included here were taken at the Flea Market I came across in the 3rd Arrondissement in early December.
