VERMEER'S SPOON

Vermeer's poetic use of dark and light colors - blues, greens, oranges, and gold - in his interior paintings inspired the title for this picture. The reflection of a window onto the edge spoon also recalls his mastery of perspective and light. This spoon could have been in the room while he painted the Concert or perhaps the Geographer.
