THE BUNNY YEAR!
Composition by Philippe Perisse de Monchenu--Drawing by Belthablog
THE CHINESE NEW Year is coming up soon--February 3rd.
But what is it? How does it work?
A long, long time ago...
The year 2011 is the Year of The Rabbit. Actually, this is the Xīn-măo 辛卯 year. Xīn (Metal) is the eighth of ten celestial stems, and Mao (Rabbit) is the fourth of the twelve terrestrial branches and marks the Year of The Rabbit or Hare. Those born the Year of The Rabbit in the Chinese zodiac are sociable, discreet, elegant, clever, insightful, and sensitive. He or she gets along well with goat or pig (And guess what? I'm a pig...according to the chinese zodiac, of course!).
Rabbits are born during the following lunar years: 1891, 1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, and 2011.
Very creative, the bunnies are present in fashion...
You may know some rabbits around you--or you may even be one yourself! But in the end, who are you? People who are born in the Year of the Rabbit are talented and ambitious. They are very popular and get along very well with everyone, so they are often the center of attention. They are always cheerful and are bon vivants. In business, they tend to be smart and sharp, and often make the right decisions. But rabbits do not like risks!!
Rabbits are known to have an artistic soul and are known to take an amazing care of their den. They get along well with people born in the year of the sheep, pig, or dog. People such as Peter Fonda, Whitney Houston, Roger Moore, Jane Seymour, Sting, and Orson Welles are famous rabbits.
Thanks to globalization we now have the pleasure to celebrate the New Year twice!
So happy Spring festival or Tet or happy Agricultural New Year…and all my best wishes to all those born the year of the bunnies.
See you on February 6th, for the dragon parade starting in front of the 13th arrondisement's City Hall.
Coming next: haute couture and menswear collection report.
